Recare sessions are best suited for older adults who would benefit from more cognitive stimulation throughout the day. We frequently work with individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other cognitive changes, as well as older adults experiencing social isolation or reduced participation in activities they once enjoyed.
-
Cognitive engagement refers to purposeful activities designed to stimulate the mind while encouraging participation, connection, and enjoyment. At Recare, we use personalized activities and games to build upon an individual's preserved abilities and encourage the use of cognitive skills that remain strong. Through music, conversation, movement, sensory experiences, art, and other tailored activities, we help keep the mind active while promoting mental, physical, and sensory stimulation.
-
No. Recare is not a home health aide agency. We provide personalized in-home engagement and memory care programs for older adults through focused one-on-one sessions. Many families use Recare alongside an existing home health aide or companion care service.
-
Unlike other agencies that require minimum hours for companion care, we offer one-hour sessions focused on structured, personalized engagement in the home. We specialize in finding meaningful connection at all stages of cognitive decline, including later stages.
-
Most sessions last between 45 minutes and one hour. We intentionally keep our visits focused to provide purposeful engagement tailored to the individual's needs, interests, and energy level.
-
Activities are personalized to each individual's interests, abilities, and goals. Sessions may include cognitive engagement activities, music, art, dance, sensory experiences, games, conversation, reminiscing, movement-based activities, and interactive entertainment designed to encourage participation and meaningful engagement.
-
